NAIDOC week assembly

On Tuesday 26th June, Deadly Dancers from Mullumbimby High School, Mullumbimby Public School, Ocean Shores Public School and Brunswick Heads Public School performed at Brunswick Heads Public School as part of NAIDOC Week Celebrations.

This year's theme is "Spirit of the Tent Embassy 40 years on".

Belle Arnold ( Kestral's mum)  spoke of living at the Tent Embassy for 5 years and its significance in Aboriginal and Human Rights.  1/2M students presented their award winning reconciliation reports while 3/4P performed a wonderful Aboriginal song.  All students contributed to the symbolic representation of the "Tent Embassy" which is surrounded by a sea of hands displaying the Aboriginal flag.

Our Deadly Dancers showed their great sense of pride and cultural skill today.  Thank you to Dinawhan, who has been working with our Deadly Dancers for the last few weeks in preparation for this special celebration.
