Stories and highlights

Term 1

We welcome our new Kindergarten students and families, helping them settle into school life with activities such as a Welcome Back BBQ where parents and carers can meet staff and explore classrooms.

Throughout the term, students take part in key whole-school events including the Swimming Carnival and Cross Country Carnival, and Stage 3 students enjoy opportunities to represent the school through PSSA sport.

Our unique location allows us to make the most of the beach and river for outdoor learning and active experiences, encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle while connecting students with their natural environment.

Term 2

Term 2 offers a mix of academic, sporting, and transition opportunities for students. Our Athletics Carnival is a highlight, giving students a chance to participate, compete, and cheer on their peers.

This term also includes a variety of academic challenges, such as the Maths Olympiad, where students apply problem-solving skills in a fun and competitive environment.

Year 6 students begin preparing for the next stage of their education with high school orientation programs, helping to make the transition to secondary school a positive and supported experience.

Teachers also engage in mid-year reporting, providing families with updates on student progress and goals for the second half of the year.

Term 3

Term 3 is a celebration of creativity, culture, and connection. Our focus on the Creative Arts sees students showcasing their talents through the Art Show, school musicals, and other performance opportunities.

This term is also when some students head off on school camps, building independence, teamwork, and resilience in new environments.

We celebrate key events such as Book Week and Education Week, engaging students in literacy activities and opening classrooms to families. NAIDOC Week is another important highlight, giving students the chance to deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures.

Term 4

Term 4 is a time of celebration and reflection as we wrap up the school year. Our community comes together for events such as Fairtastic, a highlight of the school calendar.

We celebrate our Year 6 students with a range of farewell events, acknowledging their contributions and preparing them for the transition to high school. Kindergarten Orientation welcomes the next cohort of students, helping them feel comfortable and excited for the year ahead.

Students enjoy a Pool Fun Day to finish the term on a positive note, and teachers provide end-of-year reports to families, celebrating achievements and setting goals for the future.
